Greg Johnson, Assistant Pastor
Greg Johnson has been part of Memorial since 1994, but joined the church's pastoral staff and was ordained  two years ago. Greg is also Resident Theologian with the Center for Christian Study (Saint Louis) and author of The World According to God: A Biblical View of Culture, Work, Science, Sex & Everything Else (InterVarsity Press, 2002), which is about everything. At 208 pages, that's concise. For a sample chapter, click here. It's already out of print, though.
Greg grew up in Washington, DC, and became a Christian through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ in 1990. He's 32, though he used to be younger. He holds degrees from the University of Virginia and Covenant Theological Seminary, where he graduated summa cum laude in 1997, receiving the school's Theology Award that year. He continues work on his PhD in Historical Theology at St. Louis University, with concentrations in Early Church and American Christianity. His dissertation research is on the historical development of the Quiet Time.
Greg has a tattoo (Isaiah 48:11 in Septuagint Greek around his ankle), but don't let it scare you. He's harmless.
